Cousins upon cousins gather to do some star-gazing, sing karaoke, swim in the lake, share cocktails, and stay up until
9:30 2am making music. The smell of Brats and Sangria greet you with each new conversation and fire pits spark in the mist of dunes.
Each night, a family comes together to make dinner for the bunch. Rotating from mexican, southwestern, and good ole midwestern. Cocktail hour begins at four in sync with Cornhole. Mornings are fuzzy but nothing a beach run can’t fix. Paddle boards, jet-skis and sand bars fill your days as you swiftly move into the night routine all over again.
It’s the beauteous feel of having nothing to do and everyone to see. To bond over the joy of not having to force yourself to be with family, but instead know that there is nowhere else you’d want to be.
Heres to mornings filled with baby chatter and lunches of turkey sandwiches with ice-cold Cokes. To coffee until 2pm and then again at 9pm with a little added spike. To the thrill of not wanting to miss out and the chance to see it all. It’s these things that keep life real, balanced and alive.
Hope you all are enjoying the last few bits of summer!
