1. Cardamom Ice Cream. Normally you’ll find me having cardamom in my milk before bed to assure restful sleep, but ice cream is sort of like milk when it’s summer right? Cardamom is calming, great for easing the stomach, a muscle relaxer, and it helps destroy mucous by removing excess Kapha from the lungs. It also brings some clarity and joy, and I’m not just chatting about the ice cream part. In excess, it can be heating for Pittas, but I won’t tell if you want to throw another scoop in.
2. May I be Happy. This is my first Cyndi Lee read. I got about halfway through the first page before I fell in love with her. She doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to calling out the inside voice’s perception on the body. Such a great reminder to love your body, and all that it can do for you. Also her wit, makes for one hell of a kindle turner.
3. Liver Formula. Not only is this great so you can eat even more Cardamom ice cream, but I’m heading out to Wisconsin this week for a family reunion. While there may be a tad bit of drinking, add in the heat, late nights, and eating according to who’s in charge of dinner, this is a way to up the ante on prevention. While moderation is my first go-to, this blend is a good way to assure that the fire-starter Pitta stays out of the liver. Also, Banyan Botanicals catalogue will make you do an Ayurveda happy dance.
